Pet Policy

Verijet is a pet-friendly airline. If you plan to bring a pet on a private charter, please notify us immediately and ensure you acquire any necessary permits before the flight.

  • The number of pets per flight is limited depending on weight limitations.
  • If the pet has an accident, causes damage onboard, or if we need to have the aircraft detailed due to the pet, the entire cost of the detailing will be passed through to the client.
  • Verijet requires a current vaccination certificate and rabies shots per pet to be submitted at the time of booking. We recommend you call us 24 to 48 hours before your flight to reconfirm that all your pet’s documents have been received and are in order.
  • All pets crossing state borders, except for guide dogs, are required by the U.S. Department of Agriculture to have a rabies immunization and valid health certificate issued by a licensed veterinarian within 30 days of travel. If you are a breeder, dealer, or research facility transporting a dog, the health certificate should be issued no more than 10 days before departure.
  • All cats and exotic animals must be secured in a carrier during the entire length of the flight. Carriers must have a solid, leak-proof floor and be covered with a towel, litter, or another absorbent lining for accidents that might occur during transit.
  • All other well-behaved animals are welcomed wearing a hardness and a short leash held by the owner/handler throughout the flight. The leash must be short enough to keep the animal from entering the front seat/pilot area.
  • Pilots reserve the right to refuse to carry an animal that demonstrates aggressive or violent behavior or to request that the animal wears a muzzle during flight.
  • All guests traveling from the Continental United States to the Bahamas or a foreign country, please consult the destination country’s International Pet Travel policy for additional regulations imposed at your destination. Verijet is not responsible if the authorities decide to confiscate or destroy the animal.
  • Guests traveling with pets must complete appropriate forms directly with the destination country’s Agriculture department and have an approved stamped copy when boarding the flight.
  • When traveling to the United States, the passenger must have the pet’s vaccine records, a valid rabies tag and a current health certification by a credited veterinarian.
